How we operate

What we believe about private markets data.

01

One source of truth

Every position, document, and covenant lives in one place — not scattered across spreadsheets and inboxes.

02

Built by investors

Seraf was founded by people who managed private portfolios themselves, and felt the pain firsthand.

03

Security first

Encrypted, access-controlled, and built to the standards institutional allocators expect.

04

Always expanding

From equity to credit, we build toward wherever private capital is being deployed next.

Our Story

Seraf was founded in 2013 by Hambleton Lord and Christopher Mirabile, longtime private investors who discovered that strong returns depend on the details: tracking positions, monitoring key dates, and staying on top of documents as a portfolio grows.

As their own portfolios diversified across companies, funds, and entities, the paperwork snowballed — note conversions, valuations, tax deadlines. After years of managing it all in spreadsheets, they set out to build a better way, and launched Seraf in the spring of 2014.

The platform grew with its customers: a deal flow solution followed in 2022, giving teams one place to manage a portfolio from sourcing through exit. In 2023, Seraf was sold to Harriet Ventures to fuel its next stage of growth.

Today, Seraf is expanding beyond equity. In fall 2026, we’re bringing credit — principal & interest, amortization, covenant tracking, and LP reporting — onto the same platform, so funds and family offices deploying across private assets finally have one system for all of it.
